After many years of using, appreciating, and collecting mechanical pencils, I believe I have finally determined my go-to pencil under any circumstance.
The GraphGear 1000 in 0.4mm
The perfect pencil for any job: writing, drafting, calculations, doodling, or spinning around your finger!
This medium weight drafting pencil has a center of gravity right about the lead grade indicator and features a unique grip with a combination of knurled and rubberized ellipses.
So what makes this pencil stand out from the rest?
To start off, I must admit that my handwriting is on the smaller side. I need a pencil with a relatively slim lead size and 0.4 seems to fit the mark perfectly.
Ok... so what about other 0.4mm pencils?
Great question! The solidity of the GG1000 and texture of the grip allow for the pencil to feel solid in-hand and allows written words to flow into each other. The slim barrel is the perfect width for my hand position, and the aluminum body is weighty enough to keep from feeling the need to squeeze the pencil harder, or press the lead harder on the paper.
I received this pencil on my birthday in 2013 - it looks and feels basically the same now as it did then! In my recent university studies, I can always trust this pencil to carry me through exams.
I'm not the only one who thoroughly enjoys this pencil!
